Marleen Says-

We had such a great time in Melba with Bob and Deb Lenz that it is really hard to go on, but we must. We had a beautiful drive from Lewiston to Melba on Monday and got to their house a little after 5 in the afternoon. We spent a lot of time outside exploring that first evening. I could sit in their yard for hours just taking in the beauty of the surroundings and Deb’s awesome flower garden! We had a great time catching up on what’s been going on in our lives sitting around the dinner table and later on the deck. It’s so much fun to hear crickets and frogs and see the huge night sky. The next day we sat on the deck and watched the morning as we had our coffee. Kind of different to drink coffee with the cows! Later we went for a long drive to see the sights of the area. We went through beautiful orchards and vineyards and farmland that is such a contrast to the ruggedness of some of the surrounding landscape. We ended up looking for houses for sale and I found one I would buy in minute if I had an extra 300,000. Lots of good deals in the area, but we’re not ready to move yet. I have one who says let’s do it and one who is quite firm in her refusal. Any guesses on which one is which?
Later after a rousing card game we roasted hot dogs down at the fire pit by the creek and then headed to Bob’s sister’s house. Sue and her husband Devin showed us a great time. Both of them rode Bob the horse, we watched their daughter and her friend practice for the rodeo, tried our hand at horseshoes, and then the girls tried to figure out how to set irrigation pipes…not as easy as it looks! So like I said it’s going to be had to leave Melba, but now it’s on to Grants Pass… Thanks again Deb and Bob for such a wonderful stay and for showing the kids all the “Idaho” stuff!
